Hillside lots, big live oaks and rooflines that step up and down the slope. West Lake Hills homes look incredible lit and are miserable to light yourself. We handle the ladders, the measuring and the January takedown. You get your price from one photo.
West Lake Hills has one of the stricter outdoor lighting ordinances around Austin. Holiday lights get a pass, but only for a set window. The city exempts holiday decorations from Thanksgiving Day through January 8, unless a neighbor complains and the city inspector finds the lights are shining onto their property.
Here is how we plan around it:
You can read the exemption yourself in the city code.
A lot of homes here have steep pitches, two or three levels and a mix of shingle, tile, stone and stucco. We bring ladders and gear sized for multi-story rooflines, and we use clips made for gutters, shingles and stone ledges. No nails, no staples, and every clip comes off in January.
Live oaks are the other half of a West Lake Hills display. We wrap trunks and limbs up into the canopy so the tree glows from the street, not just the bottom six feet.

The city's holiday exemption starts on Thanksgiving Day. We can install earlier so you're ready, but keep the display off until Thanksgiving.
The holiday exemption runs through January 8, so switch your display off by then. We take everything down in the first two weeks of January.
